Legacy coach-booking platform rebuilt clean, then modernized to .NET 10 with zero data-model changes.
Diyanbus (EuropBus) runs a coach-ticket booking platform that had grown into a bloated, undocumented ASP.NET 4.5 Web Forms codebase. We were brought in twice: first to rescue the legacy system, then to modernize it.
A live, revenue-generating booking site running on a decade-old, undocumented Web Forms codebase — too risky to touch without a clean baseline first, and too outdated to keep extending long-term.
We split the work into a safe rescue phase (clean compile, full parity with production, zero functional changes) before attempting any modernization, then rebuilt on .NET 10 against the unchanged database so the migration carried zero data risk.
Phase 1 took a 7,000-file legacy codebase (3,500 of them dead weight) and rebuilt it into a clean Visual Studio 2015 solution that compiles with zero errors or warnings, fully aligned with the live production server, with a complete smoke-test report covering every booking workflow and both payment gateways (Stripe and PayPal).
Phase 2 rebuilt the same site from scratch as a modern .NET 10 LTS MVC application — C#, Razor views, Microsoft.Data.SqlClient — against the original SQL Server schema with no data-model changes required. The new build adds multilingual static pages, a route search engine, user accounts with My Bookings, a shopping cart, a blog, Stripe/PayPal deposit payments, and a full rebuilt admin panel, deployed on SmarterASP.net Windows hosting.
Zero build errors or warnings on the legacy rebuild, full production parity confirmed via smoke testing, and a modern .NET 10 codebase now running the same booking, payment, and admin workflows the client depends on daily.
